Expanding supply of connectivity across the Pacific

Pacific Regional

About the Program

As Measure 2.2.1 of the Pacific Regional E-commerce Strategy and Roadmap points out, expanding a fast, reliable, and affordable network to rural communities is essential to unleash E-commerce opportunities in sectors such as agriculture and tourism. Working with partners and governments, rural businesses should be put in the condition to use internet every day, on appropriate and affordable devices, with enough data and a fast connection.

A regional program can be promoted to assist countries making the case and setting up supply-side and demand-side incentives for rural deployment of 4G network, as well as demand-side incentives for faster uptake.
