The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat has a specific focus on regional private sector development through its Trade division. Private Sector Development’s strategic areas are seven, and highlighted in the Pacific Regional Private Sector Strategy, which is yet to be developed.

The second of these proposed areas is ‘Integration of Digital Technologies’. Recognising the benefits to the private sector that the digital economy can bring, this area focuses on business digitisation processes and e-commerce development to improving services, expanding market opportunities and consumer base.
