Kiribati National E-commerce Committee

About the Project

In 2021, the existing mechanism and platform known as the National Trade Advisory Committee (NTAC) was further expanded to take on the functions of overseeing e-commerce initiatives in addition to other trade-related initiatives.

The Committee is composed of senior government Officials including the private sector with representation through the Kiribati Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and minority groups and non-government organisations such as Te Toa Matoa and women’s umbrella organization known as Aia Mwaea Ainen Kiribati (AMAK).

The Committee, in its Fourth Ordinary Meeting 2022, endorsed the establishment of Technical Working Groups focusing on goods related matters and conformance, services, labour mobility and e-commerce.
