E-commerce Private Sector Grant for Pacific MSMEs

About the Project

The E-commerce Private Sector Grant for Pacific Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is financed by the Republic of Korea and managed by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) through the ROK-PIF Cooperation Fund. The ROK-PIF Cooperation Fund focuses on targeting the Korea market for its Pacific niche products and Pacific destinations that meet particular Korean demographics.

The facility aims to provide capital support to Pacific MSMEs to diversify operations and defray business costs of going online; and to assist and provide platforms for SMEs to deliver their goods and services to unlock new income opportunities.

A first round of grants were disbursed to six Pacific businesses coming from Cook Islands, Fiji, Samoa and Vanuatu. Another 18 businesses are expected to be supported in the second round of grants disbursement.
