Tonga National Financial Inclusion Strategy

About the Project

The National Financial Inclusion Strategic (NFIS) 2023 – 2027 is Tonga’s roadmap for achieving financial inclusion, promoting social equity and fostering economic growth. The key focus is bridging financial gaps and making financial services more accessible and affordable, particularly in remote areas. The strategic objectives include banking the 34 percent unbanked adults, transitioning the 14 percent relying on informal services to formal ones, and ensuring financial access for the over 60 percent lacking any form of financial
services.
