UNCTAD will publish a Pacific edition of its global Digital Economy Report (DER). This first regional edition will provide an introduction to e-commerce and the digital economy in the Pacific and explain why it matters for inclusive and sustainable development. It will be associated with the global Report but the specific characteristics of e-commerce and the digital economy in the region. In as far as available, the Report will highlight trends and data on ICT access and use, explore the level and depth of e-commerce engagement by consumers and businesses and summarize progress to date and discuss goals and priorities for future activities in support of promoting an inclusive digital economy in the Pacific. It will build on the eTrade Readiness Assessments, UNCDF’s Inclusive Digital Economy Scorecard (IDES) and other work conducted by other organizations working inb the region, such as PIFS, SPC and others.
