Thirteen Pacific countries will benefit from the UNCTAD-TrainforTrade, one of the partners of the Pacific E-commerce Initiative, blended learning strategy to boost the digital economy in Small Island Developing States.

Officially launched on 15 July 2022 in Geneva, the project aims to foster digital economy development on three specific components – legal aspects of e-commerce, digital economy statistics and digital identity for trade and development.

UNCTAD is undertaking a needs assessment with beneficiary countries to make sure the needs and expectations of the various countries are met. Of the 38 participating countries, 13 are from the Pacific region; Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
